TIME TO TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE AND START EXPORTING
Historically, international trade has always been pivotal in defining and shaping the British economy. It is vital to our national prosperity
and in today’s climate of economic uncertainty it can mean the difference between surviving and thriving for UK companies.
We only have to look at the figures to see that exporting makes sense. Firms that begin to export gain on average a 34 per cent uplift in productivity; achieve stronger financial performance and are 11 per cent more likely to stay in business. Put simply, exporters enjoy levels of growth and economies of scale often not possible domestically.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg. The benefits of exporting are many and far outweigh the challenges. Exporting supports various elements of a business - from the commercial lifespan of products and services, the resilience of revenues and profits to the returns on investment in R&D. It also makes companies more innovative.
